The Designer warns you before, not after. Non-editable versions open read-only, events are always chosen explicitly, and real-time diagnostics flag impossible links, unreachable outcomes, and unsupported forms before they become a problem.

Unpublished or disabled versions open read-only: no more carefully built changes rejected at save time. Drafts remain editable, and published processes still save as a new version.

Preventive diagnostics on events
Choosing an event in a subscription is always explicit, and flow checking immediately flags invalid actions and targets that don't exist or can't be reached from the phase's transitions. On publish, a warning lists final outcomes no path can reach.

An unsupported form schema is rejected immediately with a clear message, instead of being accepted and behaving unpredictably. Forms inherited from the past keep working, with a warning at publish time.
