Phase G · Grow

Grow: verify, put value to use, replicate

What value did we obtain, and how do we make it last? Outcome of the phase: documented results, use of the freed capacity and the next cycle.

Verify

Results are compared with the baseline and the agreed objectives, taking into account volumes, case mix and other changes that occurred. Verification includes quality, adoption, exceptions and running costs.

Put the freed capacity to use

The customer decides how to use the value that emerged: reduce overtime or external spending, absorb new volumes, recover backlogs, improve service or devote time to activities previously neglected. The freed capacity therefore receives a use, an owner and a later verification.

Replicate

Procedures and instructions are updated, project lessons are collected and reuse in other processes or customers is assessed. Replicable elements keep a version and require adaptation and acceptance in the new context.

Evidence to produce

Before/after comparison; shared assessment of the benefit; capacity use plan; updated procedure; decision on the next initiative.

Cycle-closing decision

Keep, extend, correct or discontinue the intervention. A result below expectations is still a useful conclusion and feeds the new Measure phase. Monitoring of the process continues even after the initiative closes.
